There are some bands who don't need assistance from the radio, MTV, or any other form of public media to broadcast their message to the masses. These bands are gems that rarely come along; so when they do, it's necessary that we recognize them, and appreciate them. Bloc Party is one of those bands. Riding high on the subgenre of "dance punk" that has been carefully crafted by older bands such as New Order, and recently polished by the likes of Franz Ferdinand and The Killers, Bloc Party is a fresh bite within a sandwich that's quickly getting stale. Their debut record is fantastic and will have you tapping your feet in unusual ways by the 2nd track. Bloc Party is slowly, but surely taking over the world - one dance party at a time. If you're looking for the band you need to know in 2005, your search is over.
