tony pierce wants to know where i would go if i could spend tonight with a beautiful girl. and the truth is, i really don't know. if i could go anywhere in the world with a woman i thought was beautiful i would probably be tempted to go with cancun or the bahammas or paris. you know, places that everybody would visit if their vacation magic lamp was suddenly awoken by a rub or two.
i'm thinking more along the lines of boise idaho. or pierre, south dakota. i didn't even need google to remember the capital of south dakota - thank you, ms. crummy, you did actually teach me something in 7th grade geography.
everybody wants to go to the eiffel tower or ground zero. john doe wants to be in the bahammas where the naked women run wild and the water is as transparent as the glass table in your living room. jane doe, on the other hand, probably wants to screw the bahammas and visit the busiest city in the world, new york city, so she can shop until she drops and max out john's credit card along the way. that's why their married, after all.
but me? i would choose some place where i would never go otherwise. because i'm a firm believer that if you get an opportunity to do something that you'd never get the chance to do again, you should cash those tokens in and get a prize that you would never spend your own money on or accomplish on your own time. because if you go somewhere or do something that you would have eventually gone or done otherwise, it's not really much of an opportunity anymore; it's just getting the adventures in life done a little bit early.
i would go somewhere out past hte electric lines where nobody knew my name but everybody tried to guess. there would be no hustle and bustle, no cell phones, and you would walk, not run, to pass go.
and you wouldn't be collecting $200, either. because you would have nothing to spend it on.
and the beautiful girl by my side would have blonde hair and greyish green eyes and a figure that would make the heads turn and the eyes roll and the pants rise. she would have the style of stefani, the night life of paris hilton, and the everything else of nathalie portman.
and if i had it my way, she would probably live down the street.
if i go anywhere and do anything with my life tonight, i would lock myself in a 5 star hotel room in the middle of wyoming with a cute girl. and we would watch netflix movies and drink wine and live life the way it was supposed to be lived and enjoy things the way they were meant to be enjoyed.
and it wouldn't matter. because perfection is not about being able to pay all the bills or have the biggest house or even the neatest yard. it's not about the best job or the most expensive car.
perfection is when you can sit down, take a deep breath, and simply sigh because you have no worries and everything in your life that you're fond is right in front of you. within arms's reach.
it's cold and raining in richmond, virginia.
i bet the five day forecast in boise isn't much better.
chad, you astound me. glad to have you back on chokey again brother
